648 Beggars Arrested In Kano (Full Details)
648 beggars have been captured in Kano city by authorities of Kano State Hisbah Board for purportedly disregarding the law on restriction of road begging from February till date.
The board’s representative, Lawan Ibrahim said the homeless people were captured around Bata Area Murtala Muhmamed way, Nasarawa Hospital, Railway Station and Yahuza Suya intersection in the city.
Ibrahim who uncovered that 416 females and 232 guys were captured during the raid, added that they will keep on capturing bums who won’t maintain the law .
He said;
“We We will make Kano streets beggar-free.
”Those arrested have been screened and those who were are first time offenders, will be handed over to their relatives.
“Those who are not first time offenders would be charged to court.”
Hmm the initiative is reasonable but, considerations should be made concerning how less privelledged these people are….
