8 year old girl shot and killed at birthday party
An eight-year-old female student at Portage Path Community Learning Center, Mikayla Pickett was shot and killed during a birthday celebration for a youngster a week ago Friday August 14, in Akron, it has been uncovered.
As per the Beacon Journal, who broke the news, the shooting occurred in the 700 square of Roselle Avenue close to Manchester Road, UK.
Cops reacted to reports of gunfire at the living arrangement 11.48pm Friday and found the young lady police with an evident shot injury.
She was then raced to Akron Children’s Hospital, where she later kicked the bucket.
A man, Willie Walker told the Journal he was facilitating an open air birthday gathering for his 15-year-old grandson in his lawn when the shooting began.
“All hellfire broke out,” he said. “I don’t have the foggiest idea what the heck occurred.”
Walker said three or four individuals appeared at the property and began taking shots at the partygoers.
“I don’t know what number of shells they took,” he stated, referencing police who found various shot housings at the scene.
