Arsenal Is On The Approach Of Announcing The Signing A Playmaker – See Player Details
Arsenal has allegedly agreed on a deal to recruit Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, who will join the North London giants on a five-year deal following a quarantine period.
In the previous few weeks, the 21-year-old playmaker has been widely linked with a move to the Premier League giants after scoring three goals and providing seven assists in 78 games for Anderlecht.
Mikel Arteta’s side is expected to spend €17.5 million (£14.9 million) plus add-ons for the young midfielder, according to Italian writer Fabrizio Romano.
Romano has agreed to a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium until June 2026, having rejected two offers from Italy to join the Gunners.
Lokonga scored three goals and added three assists in 37 games for Anderlecht, however, he was not selected for the Belgian national team for Euro 2020.
Mikel Arteta has recently confirmed the acquisition of Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica, indicating that he intends to make a major squad revamp this summer in order to return Arsenal to the Premier League’s top spot.
