Burna Boy deserves a public holiday for winning a Grammy – Tacha (Video)
Nigerian reality TV personality, Natacha Akide, known professionally as Tacha has lashed out at people condemning Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike for gifting Grammy award-winner, Damini ‘Burna Boy’ Ogulu a piece of land and money to build on it.
Recall that Burna stormed Port Harcourt, Rivers for his homecoming concert in celebration of winning a Grammy.
Ahead of the concert, Burna met Wike and made a few promises, one of them being to give land and N10 million to the PH-born artiste.
Several criticisms trailed the decision, as many were opposed to using state funds to reward a private citizen for succeeding at his chosen career.
However, as there were criticisms, so also people stood-up for the governor, and Big Brother Naija star, Tacha was part of the latter group.
According to her, Governor Wike’s gesture is well justified because Burna Boy won “a whole Grammy” and not just some local based award… and as a matter of fact, the gesture even seems a bit little as she thinks a city should be named after Burna Boy and even a public holiday be declared in his name
