Court affirms election of Duoye Diri as Bayelsa state governor
A three-man board of the Bayelsa Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Saturday August 15, insisted the appointment of Senator Duoye Diri as Bayelsa State Governor.
This decision comes a month after the Supreme Court excused an intrigue documented by a previous applicant of the Bayelsa governorship political decision under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Timi Alaibe, testing the bid of Senator Diri in the November 2019 political decision.
In a consistent judgment conveyed by Justice Owodunni, the council held that the appeal documented by Mr Owei Woniwei of the Alliance for Democracy is uncouth and needs merit.
The Tribunal further held that the candidate neglected to demonstrate the charges of the fashioned statement old enough and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) released declaration leveled against the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence.
The court a while later excused the request and confirmed Diri’s political race.
