Transfer News: Olmo Ready To Return To Barcelona

Reports making rounds has it that RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo had strong thoughts to join Barcelona before the summer transfer window deadline. He had agreed a switch to the Spanish giant, only that a barrier from the transfer window ending got him stalked irrespective of the contract terms he was offered by the club.

Currently, Barcelona is facing financial issues which also saw (if not the greatest) one of their greatest players leave for France in the summer transfer window. This issue would have extended to the RB Leipzig midfielder, who was moulded by the La Masia academy, as he would have needed to take a pay cut, but that did not seem a matter of major concern to him so far his dreams of joining the side is fulfilled.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the 23-year-old wanted to move to the Camp Nou before the transfer window closed. This didn’t work out, though the midfielder sensation believes his current club RB Leipzig will still be able to seal a deal in the future with The Catalans.

The Spanish club’s president Joan Laporta is now interested in making sure that players who were breed by the club’s academy return as he is longing for the identity rediscovery of the club, owning to the fact that the club is loosing it’s place in European Football compare to what it used to be before. This is one of the reasons he fronted the signing of Eric Garcia and also considered making Hector Bellerin who is now on loan from English Premier League side, Arsenal to Real Betis to return to the club despite the fact that the right-back position is already covered.

One thing worthy of note is to consider the funding of a successful transfer of Olmo back to the club where he was produced by it’s academy.

Olmo is ready to make a come back to the club, but it goes a long way from being certain if the Spanish side will be capable at the moment to flex their financial muscles in funding the deal in the approaching transfer window.
