Wraps of cocaine found in woman’s underwear at Lagos airport

Okafor Ebere Edith was arrested at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA),Ikeja Lagos by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Saturday 31 July,2021,She was apprehended during the outward clearance of passengers on Air cotevoire to Monrovia,Liberia.

The spokesman for the agency,Femi Babafemi said on Sunday that the suspect tucked the pellets of cocaine in her underwear to outsmart the security checkups. She was suspected then picked up for search and questioning during which the illicit drugs were found on her.During preliminary interviews,she claimed her desires to make money pushed her into drug trafficking.

On the same day,Echendu Jerry Maduakolam an intending male passenger heading towards Instabul on Tuesday 27,July was arrested with 78 grams of cannabis mixed with dried bitter leaves during the outward clearance of Egypt airline to turkey.

Egbon Osarodian, another male passenger on the same day was arrested going to Milan, Italy.He was caught with 225 mg Tramadol and Rohypnol concealed in foil papers wrapped in a polyethylene bag.

The chairman/chief of the NDLEA,Brig.Gen. Mohamed Baba Marwa(Retd) commended the officers and men of the MMIA and Niger state command of the agency for their efforts in tracking down illicit drugs in their areas of responsibility.
